Yes. Alberta residents ambulance service rates are a flat rate of $385.00 for any patient transported to a hospital regardless of distance traveled and $250.00 if an EMS crew assesses and/or treats a patient but does not transport them to a hospital. Out of province residents may have an additional surcharge added.
The only insurance company we can bill directly is Blue Cross; if we are provided with the Group and ID number of the card holder. Other insurance providers typically require the insured to pay their ambulance bill and submit a receipt for reimbursement.
Wheatland EMS staffs three full time ambulances in a single station located at 196 Brent Blvd in Strathmore.
As of January 2018 Wheatland EMS employs a combination of 42 full-time, part-time and casual paramedic staff plus 3 administrative staff.
Yes, Wheatland EMS has a "ride-a-long" program that allows people interested in the industry to spend a day with our crews.
As a senior if you have applied for and are in possession of Alberta Blue Cross this will cover the cost of your ambulance service user fee.
